Why are most people so negative about pot?

I mean c'mon!!! why are most people act so badly againts weed anyways...pot does have its obvious medical side to it but why do people hate it...could it be just they way how they were brought up...how the goverment brained wahsed them saying as soon as you touch pot you become somthing like a cuban druglord?! or could it simply their bad experiences with pot so they force their kids to like...never touch drugs...or you'll DIE!!! anyone got any views on this?

we're taught from a young age that all illegal drugs are bad, and they're all equally terrible and life destroying. unfortunately for big brother, we still have some people who use *gasp* critical thinking skills and actually find out for themselves.

it is quite remarkable though, how a whole society based around hatred of the evil marijuana is maintained through confirming each other of their own lies. (much like many areas of religion).

because the goverment likes to link pot to other hard drugs saying its the path to etc so people who dont know that rather than controlling drugs lead there children etc to the street where other drugs are offered

i don't get it either! but it's really 1 thing: education. and not enough of it!

seriously - as a kid, you can sit in front of the TV during the football season and get to see all the ass, tits, beer, and cars you want. right? (no offense, NFL fans hopefully you see what im getting at) beer, cars, cars, beer, tits, women... cool, hip trendy.. right.

then the family wants to know why the kid is dead after he killed himself and his hot babe in his car while driving intoxicated.

but god forbid we teach about pot and how it relaxes, heightens enjoyment and the senses (for me) it's medical properties, it's uses in various industries (clothes, rope whatever)

no, let's just focus on the fact that bad people sell pot and so it's evil. fucking grow up planet earth!

it's a fucking plant, just like tea and coffee beans but we know how the world is all doped up on that.

too true all too true...the education on the true meaning of pot is just ignored and propaganda used to lure ppl to the all mighty carcinogenic cigarettes n crap! much more healthy to smoke pot in my mind but anywho its a plant like morvak said jus like tea etc...hard to imagine that the views on MJ and opium etc were so differnt as little as 100 years ago when MJ was used as a headache cure! go figure...be soo nice living back then just walk into a shop and say
customer: "I'd like to buy a pennys worth of MJ please!"
Shop keeper:"Certainly! Here you go and have a nice day!"
customer: "You too!"
