Arnold Says No to Gay Marriage
Californiaâ??s gay and lesbian community is reacting with fury to Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzeneggerâ??s announcement late Wednesday afternoon that he plans to veto legislation, headed for his desk, which would have legalized same-sex marriage in the nationâ??s largest state.

Psycho, we are, for once, in total agreement.
\"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will, within limits drawn by the equal rights of others. I do not add \"within the limits of the law\', because law if often but the tyrant\'s will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.\"-Thomas Jefferson.

Howdy,
I agree with Arnold,a fraction of the populace, that engages in deviant sex, should not destroy the Judeo-Christian institution of marriage, civil unions are one thing..but gay marriage is another, marriage implies a union blessed by God..when such a union..would never be blessed by God. Gay marriage,is an attempt to secularize the nation and destroy Judeo-Christian values.
Have a good one ....

As much as I don't believe that the government should have any right in what people do in their lives as long as they don't harm anybody or anybody's property, I kinda have to agree with you on this one Torog. If the Christian Church is against gay marriage then why try and have a same-sex marriage in a Christian church? If you were black you wouldn't try and join the Ku Klux Klan, would you? That may seem completely ignorant, but I just don't believe (after much deliberation) that gay people should even want to get married in a place that forbids it. Why not just get married in a registry office or whatever you call it?

Ah, okay, I see. I don't believe the government should be involved at all, so yeah, on that we agree. So I guess I do think same-sex marriages should be legalised. But I still don't think it makes sense for gay couples to want to get married in a church. I'm an atheist and I wouldn't want to get married in a church for the simple fact that the Church wouldn't want me to get married in it.

Because the acts of those consenting adults will flow onto the Tax payers...we gota pay for the medical bills when they contract HiV. Gay Marriage is and forever will be illegal unless your in a heavy liberal state.

For one thing, the definition of marriage has evolved considerably since the feminist movement. Would you call a union in which a man beats his wife everyday, uses her for sex, and expects her to be a servant, a marriage? Well, this is what "marriage" was for thousands of years. What about polygamy, which was practiced for thousands of years and called "marriage"? Not even many Christians today would call these unions marriage. To me, at the core a marriage means two people wanting to spend their entire lives together simply because they truly love eachother, Why put so much focus on the gender definition, when marriage means so much more.
