The first "leaves" that sprout are cotyledons. They break out of the seed, and look like ovals, or thin pringles (those chips). As soon as they break out, get them under a flourecent light, CFLS are good, or natural sunlight, otherwise they will get light deficiency, will stretch alot, and will be a really shitty plant. Usually if under light, after a day or two, you will see the first set of serrated edge leaves, that you can't mistake for anything other than pot. The first set will only be one leaf. Then so on.
horror business Reviewed by horror business on . My leaves don't look like they should... I have never grown weed before but I planted a bunch of seeds from a good good bag I just finished. I planted the seeds two weeks ago in a 12" clay pot and left them outside on the deck. The plants that have sprouted have leaves that look kind of like boat padles. The biggest plant is about three inches tall right now and none of the leaves have the serrated edges you would normally see. I'm starting to wonder now if something else is growing in my soil.
