Plant is officially too tall...
my only female... my baby... is over 4 feet tall and
no longer fits underneath my HPS light... well not
directly underneath at least... i sort of have her to
the side of the lamp with the lamp sort of crooked so
its hitting her from the side...
my concern is that the main top of the plant isnt
really getting any direct light anymore... should i
let her be or is there some action i should be taking...stewie420 Reviewed by stewie420 on . Plant is officially too tall...
How far along in flower are you?
If:
Just started....bend her and tie the top over.
Halfway thru....bend her and tie her slightly.
Almost done....just rotate the plant 3 X per light cycle.

Or if you are far enough along like 2 weeks to finish or so you can cut it early and finish the rest. There is not enough time for the plant to react in a negative way as to do harm to the flowering buds.

Plant is officially too tall...
she is a bit over 2 weeks into flowering... shes just slightly bent
now with the light kind of facing sideways... its working for now,
but ive got 2 other plants that start flowering today that arent
getting too much HPS because of this... they are getting a lot
of floro though...
the plant just keeps growing!!! its over 52 inches now... i think
when i started flowering her she was right around 30...
first grow... lessons learned... i will not wait to flower a plant
that tall in my current setup again ill tell ya!!!
any ideas of what i could yield from a plant this tall?
thanks everyone... ill just keep bending her as much as i can
without stressing her too much...

Without pics only fortune tellers can predict harvest quantities.
It sux learning on the fly doesn't it?
In that space, you have to figure on flowering @ 18" or so and thats it....
That floro will only serve to keep massive defoilation from happening...it would really add much to your bud and it will suffer. Find a way to get that HPS on her.

Plant is officially too tall...
my ultimate goal is going to be doing all my
vegging/clones in my new mini cabinet under
my 4 T5 cool tubes
and get a 400 HPS for the C13 to do flowering...
and maybe use the 150 HPS for side lighting...
for this grow i will just have to find a way to get
the smaller babies closer to the HPS without
interfering my tall plant...
let me see if i can find that pic...
here, hopefully this works... the pic is in my
"is this a good light for a C13 thread..."
the plant is grown
about 3 more inches
since the pic... im 5 10 for
reference...

three of her babies [clones] established roots and were put in soil
for vegging while shes flowering so i hope shes some good bud...
two more clones are working on getting roots so i hope to keep
her strain around for a while...
tina, amy, resurrection mary, hilary and christine...
since im not keeping a mother plant, is it ok to just keep cloning
the clones forever???
