i usually don't nod to anyone who doesn't do it first, except if i'm in an unfamiliar place or a bad neighborhood or at work. It's not out of acknowledgement of the other person it's more letting them know that i noticed them. I see it kinda like walking through grizzly bear country: you clap your hands and make noise so the bears know your coming and and don't get suprised, and it lets them know you're not scared and aren't good prey. At work it makes you seem more agressive and like a "team player." sp people notice you more.

I've been saluting people lately. Surprisingly, a lot of them salute back.

NWMâ?¦this is an awesome threadâ?¦.
You should be a communication majorâ?¦.
My professors would trip on thisâ?¦.
Anyway Iâ??ve found that if I know the person â?¦..I give the up nod (like hey whatâ??s up)â?¦.and if I donâ??t know the person I give them the down head nod (like an acknowledgement or gesture of respect)â?¦.
This is something I will definitely put more thought intoâ?¦..

I have never nodded to a person in my life.If someone nods at me i just usually give them a smile unless the nod is accompanied by a comment. It annoys me if someone nods and says something like hey good lookin or nice tits i usually am quite rude i dont think people should say anything to a person they dont know weather it be a nice thing or rude thing they say especially if i have my son with me.If it is a woman or an elderley person that talks to me i usually am very friendly especially to the seniors i respect them and would never be rude. What about a wink ? Whats that mean ? I think it means if i was any closer i would kiss you lol.
