    Little yellow dots on fans?????

Anytime you increase plant size, be it leaf or flower, it will not only store water, but will require more water as the respiration surface area and need increases.

Also, different nutes are also required by the flowers and the additional nutes require more water for transport.

Though, that would be a strange way to say it, with yellow spots. I don;t think they're related....

Maybe just an oddity of the plant.

If its on flower and its the only leaf like it I would remove it.

    Little yellow dots on fans?????

Well I found out some bad news. I was looking at some of the afflicted areas and lo and behold I see these little wormy looking sob's! Did some research and they're called thrips. I call them pieces of shit. Did some more research and found that a product called Concern kills them and is safe for all fruit bearing edible plants. Also found where another couple people had used this same stuff and it solved the insect problem right away. So luckily they had some at the garden center and I just sprayed them down. So we will see. Here's a few pics of what they look like. From what the experts say, these little suckers are a bad deal if you don't catch them right away. Looks like I, beign the worry wart that I am, did! So if you see little yellow spots on your plants, don't be so quick to sluff it off on some fert problem or anything else far simpler. Really look at it and see if it's these suckers. This pic is on one in the larva stage, which is where the ones on my plant were at, but they transform into a winged biting little monster that will ruin your entire grow if let go too long.

These things are really small. Less than 1/16" long in the larva stage.

    Little yellow dots on fans?????

latewood, Luckily I'm so freaking anal about these things that I was standing in there studying it with the 10X loop or else I wouldn't have caught it in time. But it's my first female and I'm trying to do everything I can to make sure it at least makes it through it's life without a lot of problems. And yes I may create some of them but really I try to follow what the majority of 'experts' suggest. When I went on to another forum, there was about 10 people on there that said, "I've had those suckers! And here's what I did to take care of them!" so that was the answer. Not to say that if I had posted a thread on what I found that a lot of people in here wouldn't have responded likewise. Ahh the internet. Will keep everyone posted as to how it turns out.

    Little yellow dots on fans?????

The Concern really seems to have worked. No thrips in sight! YEHAA!! But it did brown up the ends of some of the pistils. Here's a pic of that. Seems to have probably saved the plant though. But look at that giant resinous bud!! HA!

Sprayed the plant down real good. After the Concern dried it left a pretty good 'crust' on the leaves and everything else it got on which is supposed to be everything to allow it to work as it's supposed to. So after about 4 hours from spraying, the leaves were wilting a little so I sprayed them down good with clean water as it suggests on the directions if wilting should occur. Lights went off last night and I hoped for the best. This morning all the leaves were standing at attention and was looking great. So will keep an eagle eye on it for more of the little critters (or pieces of crap as I call them) and treat as needed if needed.
