I recently started looking at colleges and my friend told me pot is legal in BC. Is this true? I always thought it was tolerated but I never thought it was actually legal. I always thought Canada looks like a chill place and college is SOOOO much cheaper up there. Also, what are the colleges like in BC. Thanks

no it's not legal there. if it was, i would've heard of it. i went to victoria a while back and its a real nice city.

I can tell you from several running-from-cops experiences that no, it is most certainly not legal here. But its beautiful, thats for sure.

I don't know why so many people think canada has legal weed. it's not legal in b.c., but the rules are lenient. as long as you don't smoke blatantly in front of a cop, nobody's going to bug you about it. if you did get arrested, you wouldn't face more than a fine (though I don't know about rules for foreigners, my dad still can't go into america because 35 years ago they caught him with a joint ).
there was a weed cafe in Vancouver (B.C.) that ran for a few years, but recently they shut it down. probably will be legal within 10 years, they're already planning to decriminalize possession.

You run for cops and yet its no problem to cops in the yukon? Im sorry there stedric but I think that your statement may be incorrect. The charge for marijuana if cops do ketch you is they take your bag and maybe write you a 25$ ticket. PS : BC has some of the best weed in canada.

Nah, weed ain't legal there, but as someone said, the cops are extremly flexible when it comes to weed. I smoked right on the beach there, as long as you aren't too obvious and don't cause trouble, then they usually leave you alone.

BC is definalty the most beautiful out of all the provinces, although the East coast is nice too.
