That is a little bit steep for a few pieces of pot. The human skull is only 1/4inch thick, a knee will easily break it open, which would be silly for so little herb.

I would try and catch him in the act. If he does it again, and breaks it with his fingers in his pocket, grab his hand out of there and confront him. Or ya, set up a webcam and tape him doing it, then beat his ass silly after he watches it. Not too hard, some blood though. The bridge of the nose is very sensitive. Hit him square in between the eyes on the nose, his eyes will water and hopefull both of his eyes will blacken too. I've done it, and had it done to me, it works. the nose...the nose...the nose...

Don't let him think he is getting away with anything, tell him every time when you think he is doing something wrong. If you say nothing he thinks he is getting over on you, smarter than you and he will try it again because he did it once and no one said anything.

Give him time to think about it if you are feeling merciful, if you aren't then put him on the spot or dont give him the option to remain friends.
Ass kicking only gets everyone in trouble and gives him a reason to be mad and blame ya'll for what happened. Make him recognize and take responsibility for his actions.
