The city will come back, it's a major port, and most of the big buildings downtown are probably fixable. But you're right, most of the people won't be coming back. They'll fix (and hopefully improve) the levees, they don't care what it costs, they'll just leave the bill for the next generation.

Rebuilding New Orleans is not a practical idea.

What will they do with the place after its made habitable again?

Its economy and residents have been pushed away, and is not likely to return.

They should leave it for the Gators and Cotton Mouths.

Besides, didnt you here? New Orleans is 70% black, when was the last time a large group of black people got a fair shake?

You think our GOV will shell out all that money so a reletively small portion of the residents can move back?
