Hey ghost go buy half life the original no mods attached (since they are free anyway why pay for em...) it should be about 5-10$ or you might even find it in a bargain bin , its fairly old. Then download DoD mod (if you like ww2) Natural Selection (if you like the idea of "aliens" vs "marines" ala starcraft or the movie "aliens") , Then theres CS , everyone I think knows what that is (being the most popular online game and all still). It also has amx mods for instance I play CS War3/frozen throne amx mod. Gives you CS with cool powers and an experience growing system *(like RPG's). Also if your comp isnt top notch it wont matter you should be able to handle any half life mod if you can handle the original bf1942.


Also tribes 2 is freeware now , try it out if you like the idea of huge maps and being able to fly and customize your weapons to the extreme (and armour , and items)

Unfortunately well you can still get the game and play single player it'll be awhile before you get a cd key to play online. Although A friend of mine SAID he got one last week and the sign was the same so if you just sneak around fileplanet and just add your name etc to the following link and send it anyway ya never know .

Bah lol now I can't find it (I'll keep looking though I was there last night for someone else) , its on the fileplanet site , it asks for your info so they can send you a key hopefully still works (I also got my key when they said they werent handing out more so who knows.) if all else fails check out tribalwar.com etc any of the tribes fansites most of their forums have tons of info.

Cheers man! What's Tribe like, anyway? Is it kinda like Age of Empires, the Total War series, etc.. or what?

Oh, and although Tribe is freeware now you have to pay to sign up to fileplanet and download from there.. which is crap. lol I can't afford to pay for any games because I quit my job recently and don't know how long it'll be before I start work again. That's why i'm looking for free stuff.

dude just refresh the page sometimes the free servers dont load for me either, all sites for games have "free download" servers they just have a wait time man. About 20% of the time or so it just freezes and never loads the icons for em I just refresh . My bud is in your shoes man , he's not used to downloading games and such I've been walking him through too . the free servers should load about 3 inches (real space) under the subscriber servers , they actually give pretty close to the same speed from what I get on the free ones compared to what ive heard from subscribers (of their speed).
