Uh oh, just noticed what looks to be gnats

One of my plants has those little tiny black bugs climbing in and out of the hydroton medium and around the stem. They look like what they are calling "fungus gnats" over at overgrow.com. What should I do?????

Gnatrol if you can find some is best. It's not cheap but it is the very best for dealing with fungal gnats.

Ok, I didi some reading and I made a tea out of a few cigarettes, and a few drops of dish detergent. I sprayed it on the top of the hydroton where the bugs were climbing in and out of. They seem to be gone now. Happy happy, joy joy. I guess humans aren't the only ones killed by cigarettes daily.

Ok, I DON'T recomend this method. It seemed like it worked at first, but the fuckers didn't die or move away. Thankfully it's only one of three plants, and I'm so close to harvest. The "tea" I made has done a bit of harm to the plant. All the fan leaves have turned yellow and wilted & dropped. Thankfully I don't think the girl would have gained anymore weight from now until harvest. I'm going to flush tommorow as I would have anyway for the final flush. I'm using Flora Kleen because I use every other GH product, and I've read that it only takes like 4 days to do a good flush with it.

I think I can vaccuum out those little black gnats from the media. If I put a screen over my vaccuum hose, I can lure those cocksuckers out and suck em away. I know there are probably eggs down in there but hopefully she'll be alright for 5 more days. I'm on day 44 12/12 and my flower time for this strain is 7 weeks. That puts me at exactly 7 weeks in 5 daYS. I can't wait to soak my next round of beans.
