Withdrawal symptons caused by psychologically addictive substances can manifest themselves as phsyical symptons, such as insomnia. Insomnia is usually a psychological disorder, not caused by any psychical problem. Cannabis is an appetite stimulant therefore when regular Cannabis used is stopped or reduced, you may feel like you are losing your appetite when in actual fact your appetite is only returning to normal.

Of course this is only hypothesis. I have no facts to back these assessments up, but due to the fact that many sources claim Cannabis to not be phsyically addictive and to not cause phsyical withdrawl symptons, I can therefore assume that the symptons you have encountered are caused by your psychological addiction to Cannabis.
