Meaning, lets keep the oil cartel in business digging out the last bits of oil and worry about the future till 2012.

I just find that horribly irresponsible. Not only that, it is counter to the basis of cannabis culture. Hemp is cannabis and the oil it contains is not only high in protein but until the oil cartel made it illegal was the number one lube oil in the world and along with alcohol and was first choice of fuel driven engines. The point I made was that Henry Ford, the Nazi bigot, was making cars from it and fueling them in 1941. Did you get that point? That it WAS the number one until the oil cartel made it illegal. Now, you want to continue allowing the fraud to go on, promoting oil when it sucks, it will soon be gone and you want to wait until it IS gone before you think anything new. Like the idiots on Easter Island cutting the last tree down. Using hemp for fuel vs. oil, do you get the idea how much less dirt would be around? Did you ever give a moment thought why the corporate United States would make a plants INDUSTRIAL use illegal??? Just one good reason why industrial use was cut? How about 80 billion dollars to IE Dupont for rope alone?

That flag you wave was made from hemp originally. Did you know it is the war flag? Do you know what the American Civil flag looks like? Did you know the red white blue and gold flag is not American? I give civic lessons you know.

    Have a nice day
    Howdy Art,

The point that I think you missed was, that the current reality is what it is..just because we both know that hemp would be much better and would actually improve the health of the planet, doesn't make it realistic to assume that the current infrastructure of the oil industry would be changed overnight.

Alternative fuels are slowly making headway into the infrastructure, like LPG and biomass fuels, but it will be sometime before they achieve dominance,if ever. My interest in increasing refining capacity and opening up new fields,is for national security and economic concerns.

If you teach civics, then most likely, the last thing on yer mind--is national security..and you probably loathe the military and the right to keep and bear arms,as well.

As for the flags that you speak of,do ya have a sample ? I ain't never heard of the flag being called the war flag..sounds like a way for y'all liberals to make America out to be a war-like and militaristic country. I was taught American history and civics,by an old-fashioned gal who loved her country with all of her heart and didn't engage in pc'ism..like the current crop of liberal teachers do..my teacher actually wanted us to love our country and what it stood for and we left class, feeling good about our country,it's ideals and hard-fought freedoms. Whereas todays liberal teachers, most likely leave their students feeling bad about America and themselves, and leave their students in a state of confusion.

My family has a long history of teachers,my mother is currently gittin her master's degree to teach,my grandparents and great-grand parents, were all teachers and instrumental in helping to formulating and setting up several schools and 2 colleges, here in Texas. They all believed in the goodness of America and inspired their students to make America better, rather than leave them feeling ashamed and confused, like many liberal teachers do today in our schools.

Which kind of teacher are you ? Do you inspire or do you teach shame and guilt ?

    Have a good one ....

Here in Tx. we are getting a huge influx of the survivors, my neighbor(the flake) sayin that the oil companies are good to work for right about now.I mean oil rigs, cause thats what's out here.Coures I think that were in for a recession of a depression. With tantamount resources going out to the occupancy in Iraq and this homeland disaster, I am willin to bet that it's gonna get worse before it gets better.Maybe until next election or until we start crankin out some hydrogen fuel cell cars and stations.Course I'm just talkin sideways.

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean if chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority.

    Ridiculous Gas Prices

First, I would like to point out to all the political bullshit in this thread, it was a post about gas prices and this is way off topic, start a new one for that crap. Second, 9/11 justified the war with AFGANISTAN!!! NOT IRAQ!!! BTW, even though they don't report it, we are still fighting in AFGANISTAN. We switched to IRAQ so we could shift the public eye from a war we were losing. Third, gas prices will not go down, after hurricane Ivan last year, how much did gas prices drop?? maybe a nickle? And while biomass fuels are a good idea, producing it legally from corn, uses more oil than just making plain gasoline. Hydrogen cars are decades away from being perfected, and even then, it would cost billions of dollars to replace all the gas stations with hydro stations.

Throwing money at the hurricane Katrina problem will not make it go away. The rescue efforts were horribly botched, considering WE KNEW THE STORM WAS COMING. Also, why keep rebuilding in Florida if it gets hit EVERY DAMN YEAR. Maybe learn from mother nature and get the f*ck out the way eh?

Last, for who ever posted about Saudi Arabia, their oil is practically worthless for us. They can jack up production all the want, but the crude oil they produce is worthless for making gasoline. And all the people that say tap into the reserves? How long do you honestly think that would last? 700 million barrels in the reserves, would be used up quite quickly

The problem is with idiots that still drive V8 trucks/suvs when NO ONE NEEDS THEM. Soccer moms do not need SUVS, idiot rednecks do not need 4x4 trucks, and NOONE NEEDS A HUMMER. But, they are seen as status symbols, and people will not look like they don't have money. We run an entire country based on oil consumption. All of our exports/imports rely on oil to move them. You think you hurt filling up your V8 Jeep? Think about truck drivers who make a living driving your produce and food around, they don't get reimbursed for the increased cost of diesel.

As far as Katrina goes, my heart goes out to anyone who was not able-bodied, or could not afford to leave the city. To the idiots I've seen on CNN saying "we decided to try and stick it out" they should be left to rot. Give the aid to the poor/injured people who deserve it, not the criminals who are firing at the rescue workers. FEMA completely botched the rescue effort, because they were more worried about terrorist attacks, than the hurricane season WE KNEW WAS COMING.
