Dude, i've had female friends all my life. Don't ask me why, because I was never great at chatting to chicks I didn't know, but my friends were.. lol.. over the course of years I got to be friends with quite a few chicks, some were even my best friends, and i'm telling you, there's nobody better than a girl to give you advice about girls! But even now, after growing up with chicks around me I still find it hard to go up to random girls and start talking to them, so I don't. Better they don't think anything of you then think you're a dumbass, right? Now I just let them come to me (that sounds arrogant, I know, but I don't mean it that way). If i'm in a club or a bar or somewhere, occasionally i'll make conversation with chicks I don't know, but not often. You'll never see me walking across the room and chatting up some girl that's been looking at me all night. I've never used chat up lines or anything like that, so when it comes to how to chat up a girl i'm probably not the best guy to give you advice...

But, like I said, i've had loads of female friends in the past, and I find it really easy to get along with girls once I know them. The best advice I can give you is to be yourself (I know that sounds lame but it's true). Don't try and impress anyone, or appear funny or clever or confident if you aren't any of those. If you are then great, but if you're not then they'll see right through the facade. Don't be too cocky and don't approach chicks with sex on your mind, or make sexual jokes or references if it's not the right time, place or atmosphere. If you find it hard to think of stuff to talk about then just be interested in her, ask questions about her and let her do the talking.. she'll think you're actually interested in her, which (if she's even slightly interested) will make her more interested in you, and she does all the talking.

Body language is essential for both sexes, even if you don't realise it. Try making eye contact while chatting, and try and seem relaxed, even if you're not. Doing things like folding your arms, fidgeting, always touching your face, putting your hands in front of your face, and looking around all the time will make you look nervous and withdrawn. Nobody is attracted to that.

Don't try and make really deep conversation straight away when you don't even know the chick, because more often than not you'll just seem wierd. Like I said, it's better to ask about her than talk about yourself.
