I find it wierd how sometimes, when counting things or remembering long numbers, I can look at them and my brain can count them or process them without any conscious effort. The last job I had was working in the parts depertment of a Volkswagen garage. Alot of the time I had to remember 9-14 digit numbers, and at first I couldn't do it.. but after a while I found that I could read, remember and check these numbers without any conscious effort or thought. I wouldn't even have to read them in the usual sense of the word, I only had to look at them, just glance at them for a split second. I dunno if this is normal for everyone, but it shocked the crap out of me coz I always find it hard to remember number sequences. I tested it quite alot by looking quickly looking at the number plates of passing cars - but not looking at them long enough to consciously read them - and then seeing if I could recite it. More often than not I could, and if I was in a car myself then I could turn round and check and usually I got it right. Since I left that job my memory has started to return to normal, or at least it would appear so. I can still do it with telephone numbers and stuff.... what's wierd is that if I actually read a number then i'll find it hard to remember. But if I look at it then look away before they register, then I find I can remember the number even hours later, without having thought about it since seeing it. I guess this isn't really relavent, but i'm stoned and this came to mind when I read this thread.

For example, OOOO you didnt need to count that, you knew automatically that it was four O's but OOOOOO you'll have to count! You probably cant tell its six right away so.... Rating: 5
