BUSTED!!!!

Alright, well I didn't sell everything, I have some stowed at a friends house (big props to you ). Drastic? Maybe, but school is first, and if they did call the cops on me, I'm screwed out of school (I had enough to be arrested, and undoubtedly get kicked out). This is my 3rd year, so pretty much junior college is out at this point. Rehab, it wouldn't put it past them, but I'm not worried about that. Was he lying about the cleaning up bit? It wouldn't surpise me if they were actually cleaning up my room. My sound equipment is worth big bucks, and being in the basement it is in danger of flooding. My dad is also irrationally scared of flooding (we have 5 sump pumps, 3 alarms, 2 battery powered pumps, a rack of 6 marine batteries, and 2 hand pumps, a generator, and we normally have hosing ready in case we need to siphon to the end of the lawn). On the other hand he was going through my shit, cleaning or no I never gave him permission. It's his house so I'm not pissed that he did it, but I think a lot less of him. Letting up over time... my older brother (26) lives 2 miles away, and still gets plenty of shit from the parents. I have no desire to stay in the area after graduating, but in the meantime they pay for most of my school and my car. I haven't quit smoking (yet), and don't plan too unless they drug test me in order to keep my car. The whole thing is a fucking mess. I'm sure their church will call me sometime this week wanting to have a 'counseling session'. They aren't going to trust me around my younger brother much either, which is probobly the worst part of it all.

I grew up as a Jehovah's Witness, when i started smokin... i was scared shitless, i was 16. Had i been caught then, i would've had a shitstorm to deal with. The shitstorm still came.. just not then. When i was 18 i got a tattoo to show to myself and my parents that i AM my own person with my OWN goals and my OWN personality. Not just an "Elder's Son". It showed to them i'm patriotic,a pot smoker, and rebelious against the religion (all 3 are strongly frowned on)...exactly the way it should be.

Enter:Shitstorm.

Breaking away from a Religion that you've been brought up in, or a religion your entire family is involved and active in is probably the hardest thing anyone could ever have to do in their life.

You have to make your own decisions. If this religion stuff isn't what you want, tell your parents. Religion can make you lie to yourself and the people around you...Nothin worse than lying to yourself...I'll vouche for that.

If your parents love you and respect you as their SON and not just as a church goer then you will know it.

I'm 20 now...I told my parents when i was barely 14 that i didn't want to do the religion shit anymore...it didn't go over well. I dropped out at 16, and worked fulltime to support myself.. feed myself even...18 i was politely asked to leave after getting my tattoo..

Since then? I've seen my family literally, a handfull of times.

They live no more than 40 minutes away and make such little effort in seeing me, it makes me wonder if they care at all?

Religion will do that...

BobBong I feel ya. I was a JW as well. I cant speak for all the witness's but my parents had a hard time dealing with me being the black sheep and for a long time I was an outkast but my parents have shown me a great deal of love even though I dont share their beliefs anymore. I moved out when I was 15 cause of a whole shit load of issues but not everyone is the same. Some parents although they are religious and can get blind sided dont ever forget how to continue to love their children no matter what choices they make.

Its hard not to let a situation like that get you down but what doesnt kill ya only makes you stronger. Trust me i learned the hard way as well but in the end i really havent done that bad for myself. Im sure things will work out for you and someday you can prove to your folks that you dont have to obide by one set of rules to be happy or even successful in life. And if ya ever need a pal to smoke up with im here for ya... (in cyber space n e way) lol
