Why be average? Smart, talented people make money no matter what their background, if it's what they want to do. I have unique skills -- not bo staff in case you're wondering -- that allow me a nicer salary than your average bear.

Just saying that your personality and the people you know have more to do with your salary than a degree ever will. If you're a jerk with an engineering degree, nobody will hire you. Why? Because you're still just a jerk. (I don't mean you personally, BTW.) At my company we hire almost exclusively on personal recommendations -- no degree will get you in the door in and of itself.
