You could do so many things with your light without the reflector, you just have to be creative... I would suggest chaining it to the roof, but make sure your light aint for that is the stupidest thing you could do, it happend to me -.-, Trial and Error boy that sucks lol.

Is your ballast attached or detached to the light bulb socket?

    1. Make sure your room is properly ventilated with heat OUT and fresh cool air IN.

    2. If your problem is number 1 above, fix that then re-test temps. If not, go to 3.

    3. Make sure you have a good strong fan blowing on the lamp to the exhaust.

    4. Tin snip the reflector so you can bend the sides out a little more. I hate to tell you to get rid of the reflector because with that little light, you will need all you can get. Tou can use a white board on top of the light like I do, then hang the lights with twistie ties from the board. You use the board because you lose too much light at the top if you don't.

People are generally lazy and hold onto currently held false beliefs. This condition is not acceptable to the ethical atheist. It is not good enough to sit comfortably with your knowledge of the Universe and look in pity at those who are still governed by lies, mythology and sensationalism. Scientific education is the only way to prevail. Only by increasing the comprehension of scientific truths can we hope to continue our progress past the Dark Ages.
