    seedlings are wilting

    can anybody HELP????growing from seed in the paper towel germinated fine but when i transplanted them 2 rockwool they just collapsed also how much water is best 4 young plants?? any help would be gratefully accepted,smokers of the world unite

    A bit more info would help and some pic's . However I can tell you the great majority will tell you rockwool sucks and is not used much. It holds too much water around the root ball and causes rot. Are you growing hydro ? If so post in the hydro with more info there are some great minds there. sounds like too much water. Some use rockwool and don't have prob's with ebb and flow systems you just have to keep cleaning under them to keep the slime down

    thanx for your help,someone came round had a look and said they were too dry,put them in bigger cubes and he said they should be fine.maybe maybe not trial and error.anyway nice 1 for your intrest smokers of the world unite

    get some Anti-wilt it will keep the leaves from drying out and give the plant a chance to root.

    Skinner I find it hard to understand that they are to dry in rock wool.
    More like they are to wet and stem rot has developed.
    You will find the seedling will sprout grow then fall over, if you look close at the base of the seedling stem they often darken,shrivel,flatten and the seedling collapses.
