yeah and good luck to anyone in New Orleans seeing as it is going to get hit head on, and a ciy of nearly 500k people (which has been completly evacuated) which is constructed below sea levels with hugh dikes holding back the mississippi i dont think it will turn out good. Its a shame, i went to New Orleans on a road trip for New Years, its a very beautifull city

This is gonna be the big one. Cat. 5, strongest possible. (nothing to do with size). Winds of 175+...there's going to be catastrophic damage down there. Massive flooding, deadly storm surge, catastrophic winds...it's not looking good. Meteorologists have been waiting for this one. From a hurricane-enthusiastic's view point, Katrina is an absolute beauty. But, I hope everyone gets out of her path.

Many prayers out to the folk down south. This looks like it's a big one. Get out and stay safe if possible. Going to toke a prayer bowl for ya.

To those in its path, stay safe. If you can get out, do so. No time to be heroic. I am in New England and we had two whoppers in 1938 and 1954 and I have seen photos of what they can do. Cars floating down streets houses washed out to sea. Water in downtown Providence RI was six feet high.

    Stay safe all!!!!

P.S. Don't forget to pack some herb.

I was in Davenport, FLA last year for all 4 of those bad boys so I feel for all you folks down there in the deep south. God bless you all and good luck! Oh yeah...stock up on da' smoke too...I remember not being able to "hook up" for 2 to 3 months after the last one. Not sure why it was so hard to source, just was. Of course, guess it's too late for some of you but I'm sure you planned ahead anyway!

You're all in my prayers...hang on dudes!

Man, if you're on the Gulf coast, get the fuck out of town!! Katrina hung around the Keys for over a day, was more than 50 miles out, but we got rain like you wouldn't believe and the wind was terrible. Grab your stash and split!!

i know they keep saying it's going to hit louisiana...new orleans head-on...

but the more i see of the radar on tv (i work at a tv station too), the more it looks like it's heading more towards east texas and west louisiana...i don't know...

the live shots of the louisiana coast though are crazy, on all the big stations...the waves are just crashing in...
