They use heat seeking equipment to scan rooftops for attick grow rooms of extra large amounts of heat loss .
Like say i,m guessing a bit so i would say they would be looking for 6 or more 1000 watt lights.
Much less than that could be from a poorly insulated attick.

Most police choppers are fitted with thermal imaging cameras which will clearly pick out a person just from their body heat. Needless to say any grow set up is visible so you would expect every grower to get busted. We don't. Make of that what you will.
