Weed helps me tremendously with bouts of depression. I have used it with amazing success for years now. It centres my mind on a plan to overcome the negative emotions and motivates me to keep on keepin on. It filters out the self doubt/self loathing that accompanies depression and filters out negative thoughts that cycle and infest the mind.
I am taken away from the emotional connection and to the logical root of the problem It helps me to analize the root issue that caused the episode.
It helps with my anxiety in much the same way.
It refuses to allow my mind to fester in a negative state. It rises above all that and can see itself with a sense of sympathetic detatchment.


However if you ask our government about it they say it CAUSES the depression in people. They believe this so much that it is stipulated in my medical exemption application that it will not be approved for use by persons with a history of "serious mental problems like depression..."
So I must pretend I dont use it to treat the issues they claim it causes or they will deny me it all together.

Is he talking about while high, or a longer term effect? In the pot culture, I've been finding alot more depressed people than in the sober culture. My dealer is depressed. Half the smokers I know are depressed. People on this message board are saying they are depressed. Of course, it might not be the weed that makes you depressed, i'm aware of that. The Rating: 5
