when i moved backed to the states i smuggled a 1/2 oz of hash and bud.... this was before 9/11 tho so i wouldnt even try it nowdays..

i just put the 1/2 into a baggie and then into a sock... i then put the sock into a bag of pepper.. wrapped it in a shirt, and put it in my checked baggage....
pepper is best for throwing off dogs, ive use it to send through the mail alot too..

also i went to germany with my soccer team before i had moved to brussels and a guide took us to mastricht in holland...a couple of us stumbled onto a coffee shop and i bought a few jays..we smoked them needless to say, but a week after we came back to the states i was doing some laundry and felt something in one of my pants pockets, i had forgotten about one of the joints....

so id say its bassically luck...
