can anything be done with a fish tank?? (hydro)
Listen, i am brand new to growing... i have decided that i would try the hydroponic route rather than grow in soil... now i am trying to avoid the cost of buying a system that i have been seeing at different sites on the web. I have seen some clever ideas here but have yet to see anything regarding usage of a fish tank...
any designs to be shared?

Nope, the glass is not going to work. You can cover the glass but then how are you going to drain the tank? Either ebb & flow or anyof the other fill and drain systems will not work.
You can get a better tank from big lots for less then 8 bucks. Rubbermaid tubs are cheep.

Yeah, i have a 30 gallon tank sitting around. I was just hopeful that someone created am easy setup design for one.
on another note...
I have seen you around quite a bit. giving helpful advice to the members of this great club here. I have another question for you that i think you can assist me with.
This is my first plant ever!!! in all my life. i have always thrown seeds in a pot and placed them on a window sill..they would soon die shortly thereafter.
I am a little more interested in growing a plant to harvest.
I have a plant that i have had in the window for maybe 6 weeks now. i have since transfered it to my closet (4 days today). Its under (3) 60 watts stick up lights from walmart (18 on - 6 off schedule). i know i have to eventually get a stronger light... but i am still confused about the different stages. i am hoping that you can take a look at the 4 photos attached. maybe you can even tell me what stage the plant may be in, and what i should do to give the plant the proper tlc to grow her up.
i would appreciate any suggestions you have to offer..

The stage could be early flower only because you are using natural light from a window and that's about the color of the sun this time of year more into flower. Change your light cycle into 24/7 keep them on and they will veg some more.
Not sure how much room you have to grow in, those are in dirt not Hydro so you can't just wash off the roots and move it to Hydro but you can veg it longer and then take some clones.

Built this quick system in a day... so far it's working wonderfully... take a look... i'm using this to get em big enough to clone... then my homemade cloner will get em big enough to put in the ebb and flow pvc system...
