Do you consider yourself an Activist
A huge proportion on my time is devoted to "activism" in the UK: for the last few years as part of the Legalise Cannabis Alliance,a political party and running a guide for campaigns called Cannabis Campaigners Guide .
There's a limited amount of people who use cannabis and are prepared to come out up front and stand for election: so far we have fought over 70 elections and gained from 0.5 to 7.5% of the vote. We believe this has taken cannabis into the political arena in the UK and has helped change policies of several other parties, as well as getting masses of information out there (over 1 million fliers).
But we have yet to see real support from the cannabis users that we have been fighting for, either at the ballot box or financially. We operate on a shoe-string budget, we are run by volunteers.
As we are a political party, we can only accept donations of less than £200 without question, and we are not allowed to accept individual or company donations of over £200 from outside the UK unless from registered UK voters or companies.
But I am pretty sure that every campaigning group is short of funds, yet just a dollar from each user just once ayear would enable so much more to be done. So if unable to donate to LCA, please help another pro-legalisation group.
