Smoking before bed?
Not real cool to go around diagnosing other people, man. I have a hard time going to sleep -- happy now?? I was just not being super-detailed, but here is my situation: I used to have the same problems you do, falling asleep when the sun rises, only getting a couple hours, etc. but by changing my eating habits, caffeine, and being disciplined about getting up early for work, I can usually get at least 4.5 - 5 hours of sleep a night without weed. I think improved life situation helped out a lot with this too (not as much woman-drama, better job, etc).

The problem is, that's not really enough for me on a regular basis. 4 or 5 hours is OK for a couple days but by day 3 of my 6-day workweek, I'm just beat. That's all I meant, dude.
