    Was weed your 'gateway' drug?

I always considered things like alcohol, caffeine, sugar etc on one side of the spectrum, and weed, mdma, heroin, crack etc on the other side. I told myself I would never do weed. Until i did some research, and it turned out weed isnt that bad after all.

So now I've seen that I can change my mind about weed. Right now I'm telling myself I'll never do the harmful drugs like heroin, crack, and mdma, but I dont trust myself to not make that change?

This is why weed should be legal, so it would be on the first side of the spectrum and not a damn gateway drug.

If weed is considered a gateway drug, isnt being born a gateway to being a murderer?
What about tynonel? Isn't that also considered a gateway drug?

    marijuana was my gateway drug.
reason being is because it was forbidden to me. once i tried it and realized how great it was, after my insane episode with my first experience.
i'm guessing that people don't know the seriousness of other drugs. marijuana is played out to be this horrible drug due to propaganda.
you don't see commercials on cocaine and crack, etc.
it would seem to the unintelligible person that marijuana is the worst drug ever.
in theory, if someone finally built up the courage to try the drug and realized that everything was exagerrated it'd almost seem okay to try other things...more harmful things.
once your introduced to marijuana every other possibility of getting fucked up is suddenly open to you.
it's just the way the universe works.

I smoked cigarettes for many years before I smoked weed for the first time. Aside from the odd beer, or a night of drinking with profs (as is the norm in many grad schools), weed is the only "drug" I use. You've gotta be a fucking moron to use some of that other stuff.

Actually, I think it really is a gateway drug, at least for me.

Just like Ganj said, weed opened my mind up to the possibility that most drugs aren't as horrible as the government makes them out to be.

But it's not like weed has thrown me spiraling down some horrible drug voyage where I have no control. It just has opened up the gateway to a whole new world to me.

I did other drugs prior to my first experience with weed. I have since abandoned anything but weed but I guess I'm always looking. The reality is that not all substances are bad and with knowledge we have the power to tell the difference.
