Do you mean, a Kola, as in, what is a kola? If so, all that means is the top bud. Kola, or cola, means the very top bud, the main bud, the one that starts it all. We call that a kola/cola because it is the biggest bud on the plant, the main bud.

The main cola also contains the antioxidants that control how the plant grows and other functions of the plant. You can cut off the main cola or crop it. That will make the plant shorter then normal and grow bushier no one main cola to keep everything inline.
