Have you ever considered that peoples circumstances change and some times they cannot be controlled ?
Have you ever posted to find the information you posted was incorrect or was not presented correctly , or even out of anger frustration?
You ever considered there could be security issue and some ones safety is at risk??hhmmm
I've seen members at other sites do extra jail time because the DEA matched a grow bust to pictures he had posted online.
I feel 5 minutes is total rubbish and is nothing but a danger to community and totally horrified this has been enforced on such a site.
Safety is the most important thing for many and clearly that has not been considered here.
What is the reason for this?

Zandor fair enough but with all the problems in the world today safety is of importance.
I'd hate to see another member of a site do extra time because he was sharing and helping others.
It's usually only the poster who can make a call if their safety is at risk and for some freak reason they need to have items deleted.
Fine example is today, my pc crashed last night I returned today to find I'm still logged in. Now if a not so friendly user such a tech guy to fix my pc hit history and found I was Fet on this site , Id atleast like the option to remove any info that might risk my safety, such as pictures etc
Whos to say , a canna hater of such sorts might decide to inform LEO of my activities online and there is no possible way I could remove any info from this site...very risky.
It could be a picture as harmless as my pet dog that has me linked and busted.
If you want credible informative posts with pictures the site needs to look out for the safety of its members.

If one is super concerned about their personal security/privacy, they shouldn't be posting messages they don't want others to see on any publicly viewable message board; this is just basic common sense ... isn't it? ... anyways, will add building a board support faq to the to-do list.
With that said, one's message postings (text, pictures, etc) alone most often do NOT constitute anywhere near enough evidence to obtain a conviction, let alone even filing charges in many instances - it most often requires much more ... if one is being investigated, the authorities (often using informants first to troll/establish contact) will seek an in-depth one-on-one dialogue via email, IM, phone, post, in-person, etc over a period of time (can be upwards of years in some instances; months more typical) with the person(s) being investigated.
Finally, in a nutshell, nowhereman hit it right on ... blunt, but right to the point

I guess you have never witnessed another grow busted then NARC to leo in a last effort to buy themselves some freedom?. It happens all the time and quickly what was once friendly sharing on such a community board has some helpful member pinned by LEO.
Another true example was a bust of a member from a certain site , evidence pictures were taken of his grow set up like any bust and held by leo.
During his wait for trial LEO was doing studies on water culture at this forum and matched his evidence pictures to pictures posted on the site.
While he claimed he had only been growing a few months his online display had him pinned for years of growing. The poor guy was only helping med users and was given a few extra years jail time.
We currently have Marc Emery in hot water and witnessing how far they will go to bust some smokers from tracking mail to sending fake notes to customers
So in a nut shell I have given CREDIBLE reasons why users should be able to edit but you have given NONE!
What happen to safety or others , just stating "I'm right jack "who cares about you attitude is terrible.
So why not allow members to edit their posts what is the reason for not allowing this ?
