please help a new grower with a few things

hi i was just wondering, i was planning on using a 1000w hps light along with 2 33 watt flouros. do you think that that is enough lighting for 6 plants? also

at what point do i use the hps. should i just use the lfouros to start the seeds?

also how important would it be for a co2 setup if needed at all? these are a few quick questions for now it would be great to get a feel for this. i want to learn all there is to know and catch a grasp on the trade

Man there is a ton of information on this board....try searching for specific things....I will give a quickie answer and you can search for much more detailed explanations.
1 Start your seedlings under the fluros....that 1000 light will fry them like eggs. There is no perfect time to start them on Hps...do you have a MH?? Do you have a hortilux bulb on a HPS system?? If you have a Hortilux or a sonagro then you can use one bulb through the whole grow....some say its still better to use both....I cant say its my first true grow. And while CO2 is great....until you get the hang of growing ....the basics...then learn when and how to use the CO2...

thank you for your advice krippy, i am still awaiting to recieve my supplies in the mail. i did originally order a 250w mh light but exchanged it for a 1000w hps. so if i was to order a hortilux bulb i would be able to use but i am probbally gonna stick to the flouros to start and then switch like you said, thank you

sure the Hortilux is a great choice but monitor the temperature at the top of the canopy at all times.

Do not use the HPS light until your plants are in the Vegetation cycle.
You can use the Hortilux bulb for both the veg and flower cycle.

You reach that cycle once you have 4 sets of true leaves formed. Before that you are in the seedling stage and should use only the fluorescent lights.

Zandor knows his stuff.....If you just watch the boards and do searches just about every question you could ask has been asked and answered here before. Best advice is to read read read....and make sure you pick up a grow book....just so you can keep reading even when your not online!! lol
Best of luck and the 1000 is a great choice...I have a 430 and I am trying to upgrade to a 1000 now.
