Bush's statement
On the evening of Sept. 12, 2001, according to a newly published memoir, President Bush wandered alone around the Situation Room in a White House emptied by the previous day's calamitous events.
Spotting Richard A. Clarke, his counterterrorism coordinator, Bush pulled him and a small group of aides into the dark paneled room.
"Go back over everything, everything," Bush said, according to Clarke's account. "See if Saddam did this."
"But Mr. President, al Qaeda did this," Clarke replied.
"I know, I know, but . . . see if Saddam was involved. Just look. I want to know any shred."
Reminded that the CIA, FBI and White House staffs had sought and found no such link before, Clarke said, Bush spoke "testily." As he left the room, Bush said a third time, "Look into Iraq, Saddam."

After 9/11 Americans were furious that it happened and terrified it could happen again. Bush used this to further his own agenda which was to go after Saddam Hussein. Whatever he did was for the good of the country and if you disagreed with him you were anti-American. At least that's what the Republicans would have us believe. Since there wasn't a direct link to Al Queada Bush lied about WMD. Now that they haven't been found he goes back to the claim that Iraq was supporting terrorists and now that Saddam is gone were safer.
BULLSHIT!!! If anything he just stirred up a hornets nest. All those borderline Muslim extremists, the ones who hated America but not yet ready for Jihad, are now pissed off enough to die for the cause. The U.S. military is seeing record low numbers of new recruits while new terrorists pop up every day. The only reason that we are safer now is that most of the terrorists are content to go after our military in Iraq, What happens when we finally pull out. Does Georgie Porgie think they'll just go away. No! They'll find new targets. Most likely here in the U.S. or in our Allies countries.
History will show that GW was one of the worst Presidents ever and an embarrasment to our country. Until then:
FUCK YOU GEORGE W. BUSHFengzi Reviewed by Fengzi on . Bush's statement I just can't figure out what Iraq has to do with 9/11?? Is there something i'm missing. Was the main reason because Iraq harbored terrorists? It's just not pliable. How is 9/11 and Iraq connected in any way? Someone please fill me in! Also, Bush is on vacation, he can't even make time to talk to this woman camped outside his ranch?? What kind of president is he. It'd be one thing if he was too busy running the country, but nope, he's do busy vacationing. Rating: 5
