Zandor,or anyone else! Q's about system design
[QUOTE=Zandor]I read where you got some sprinklers. Why not make an Aeroponics system then?
As for your question you can use a diverter to feed the drippers and recalculate the water at the same time. It's the movement of water that I feel is important. Think in nature it safe to drink from moving water but when the water is standing in a pool bacteria starts to grow and you don't drink the water. Same idea with your plants.
I do like using submergible pumps. Yes it does raise the temperature of the water a little but it's a fair trade off to me. In most fish stores or pond stores you can find diverters that allow for multi water out put from a single input. Make one to feed the drippers/sprinklers and one to act like a jet under the water. Just when you start an Aeroponics system make sure you place the roots at the bottom of the net pot and try to get some of the roots to start hanging out the bottom before you add the grow rocks.[/QUOTE.
that's what I thought, basically...what i was looking for was the word "diverter"...
1st off I am building this around an Outboard/NON submersible 600gph,
.5 hp pump
so, you think I should jet water in instead of letting it drop(horlback) and I won't need any airstones...or should I still run airpump in the res?...
how about if I drilled a bunch of small holes in pvc that sits under the water causing several streams of high pressure H2O to produce oxygen...
another question that has plagued me throughout my planning stage is; just how shallow can I run nutes in system...Can I actually just have 4-6 inches of water in circ. system (I believe I can run any depth nutes/water that I want, because with the sprayers going, I'm just using water culture as extra nute availability to the roots; so It doesn't have to cover the entire root system or vica/versa...whadaya think?
I also want to bring both nutes and ph'd ROwater to inlet side, in case I need to flush...I'm thinking 2 reservoirs...1 w/nutes 1w/ph'd ROwater...
2 seperate valves leading to inlet...whadaya think?
then of course, the outlet side: 1. valve/recirculating water culture(depth still a question?) and 2. valve/sprinklers and dripper lines w/on-off valves.
A circulating aero water culture machine w/drip feed(optional)
and external .5 hp 600gph water pump!...I think this is gonna Kick ASS...
I can't wait to get it done...It is going to make growing soeasy!; compared to what I've gone through
...anyway thanks,
Zandor... anyone else???

Q's about system design I am building system w/600gph 1/2hp cent. pump and I would like some input; Aside from what I have found here and overgrow... Zandor, you use the drip method. Do you not? If I build a recirculating water culture w/ sprayers for support. Do you think I should also have drippers? If I recirculate my nutes, would airpumps be necessary or would air in the main res be enough?; or, would I need them in the basins/troths as well? How can I supply sprayers and recirculation from Rating: 5
