No Hassel Harvesting

Sup ppl. i got a lil over 9 foot girl growing, i got a room up stairs that my mom is goin to let me use to dry the plant its normly hot up there. (no a/c) now whats the easiest way to cure dry harvest whatever you call it with out any hassel or havn't to spend money.

get a long piece of string, tape it or pin it 2 each side of the walls and hang the bud 2 dry

i just took my plant out of the pot and was wondering if i was suppose to chop the bud off from the root

correct me if im wrong but i belive you can hang the whole thing but most ppl i belive cut the branches off and trim ect. ect
