    AHHH EXCITEMENT! Staggered harvest?

Zandor posted a "bible" from marijuana.com. well they talk staggered harvest and it makes sense. my cola looks ready to be dried whilst the rest of the plant looks like it could use more maturation. my question here is when harvesting I have heard rumors of letting your plant sit in the dark for 2 days and cut in the dark, is this true? Should I wait or can I cut and start dry right now? I need answers stat.

You harvest by the trichomes, yes if you have some plants ready take them now and let the others mature. Even if only part of a plant is ready you can trim off the buds but leave the stock and as much of the plant as you can to reduce stress and let the rest finish. It does slow the rest finishing but it will finish and be just as good as the others. You just need to figure how much longer it will take and if you need to start back up the nutrients again then flush or just keep using water. If it's going to be weeks still then go back to nutrients for a few more day's then flush again. It's all about the cycle you are going for so give it a try.

As far as your light cycle, or lack there of.....for harvest.

It is known now that light dimishes and degrades some THC. The theory thus is to leave the plant in darkness...

THC is produced during the sleep stage of the mature MJ plant...therefore letting them sleep for a full day or two is theorized to prepare the plant to contain the highest THC content prior to harvest.

If you trimmed off the buds, wouldn't you lose the extra potentcy/thc you get from proper drying, curing...hanging the whole plant as opposed to chopping it up?
...good info ...I've also noticed that flushing(final phase) the plant seems to mature it(at the end of flower)...what do you think?

It more the timing that matures the plant not really the flushing process.

What I was talking about is the times when you have light only from the top, you then have a good cola and a few lower buds with nice flowers ready to harvest. You can trim those buds and then kick back up the nutrients to before the flush and go another few weeks. The lower parts will mature more with the extra light they are now getting. I thought that is what the poster was asking. I know several people who have flower rooms and veg rooms. They move the plants from on to the other and keep a cycle growing that way.

Hanging your plants to dry is just an easy way to store them. My self I have a cabinet lined with cedar to make it like a cigar humidor. I regulate the temperature and low air pressure too. I trim my plants and not hang them so only the buds are placed on screens to dry.

Curing is different then drying. The Curing process removes the Chlorophyll taste and hopefully the other chemicals that the flush did not clear out.

I too cut off all the excess foilage BEFORE drying.

I let the fans get pretty yellow and nuted out anyhow before harvest.

The cure is where you get that deep down moisture out of the pland stem and let it dry out...in and out over and over a week or two.

Does it make a difference if you manicure the plant WHOLE or rather cut it into MANAGABLE PEICES? Does the THC differ in either ways?

you should let it hang as a whole for a while and then you are free to separate it into pieces.
