PLANT GIRDLED....HELP..???
Does anyone have any info what happens to plants when they get girdled..(bark stripped off of stalk). Rabbits or porcupines have stripped the bark off the bottom 6"-8" of 3 plants...
My question is..Will they survive..and if so , for how long. I need at least 2-3 more weeks to fully complete the flowering cycle. No leaves or buds were touched and only one was branch was damaged. The only damage done was the removal of the bark from the bottom of the stalk, the woody pulp of the stalk was not touched or damaged. I still have 6 plants with no damage but the 3 damaged are very close to finishing and it would be a shame to lose them at this point in time.Sage of Bud Reviewed by Sage of Bud on . If it hasnt wilted ,then am GUESSING it would make it a few more weeks, they make a fabric to wrap tree trunks with, to stop bug damage, that might help your plants. You can get a roll of the fabric for about 3 dollars, if you have too, wrap pantie hose around them.
Chicken wire will stop anymore chewing they might do.
