my best plant turned hermie I think? Not sure?
My biggest uncropped hydro plant about 5 to six weeks into flower has been forming an awesome kola I think may be turning hermie but not sure. on mostly lower smaller stems bud, where the buds meet the small stems I have found what appeared to be small seed size balls . not on all of them only a few and only one in each finding . I removed one and it doesn't look like a flower pod it looks like a seed husk with no seed in it. Is this normal for female plants???? to form seed pods with no seed??? wish I had a digital to take pics but dont right now. Can anyone give me any input???
If it is hermie is it true the seeds will produce only female plants???

From what I understand, If the plant is stressed out (by wierd light pattern or heat or chemically). That is what a female seed is from it is trying to save itself for next year. However the balls contain pollen not seeds , flowers contain seeds, pistils or hairs turn red and fall out, seed forms. You can collect those balls and polinate just a few flowers with them to make female seeds. I'm in the middle of 6 weeks 12/12 too. If you don't want any seeds remove them before they open. Hope this helps.

You have a male plant...females will show white hairs(pistils) where you see the tiny balls forming. No hairs present but tiny balls means you have a male plant. They produce some THC but the strength is lower than the females, only good for breeding purposes really. No...hermies produce hermies/males/females..lighting variations can induce hermies to form regardless of strain grown.

Loc Nar 1958- This plant has been definitely female, forming bud white pistils and all. these little what (like I mentioned before)appeared to be balls like the flower balls of a male plant when it forms but when you open a male flower ball it usually has pollen flower inside, these do not they are like seed husk unless perhaps they have not had time to fully develop their male side of the hermie they are turning the plant into? Still not sure? Maybe Hermie and I'm in denial ......lol
Sage of Bud[U]- This has been a female plant for sure white haired pistils all over it. The very few lil balls have not been male flower clusters (balls) but like single round (what at first glance ) appear to be male balls at the bottom of the white haired pistil covered buds. Lighting has been good , 2 1000watt hps only factor that could make hermies that I have had concerns with is the room tempature. My room has hit 90 degrees a few times during the recent heat wave.
Anyway do females ever form round seed husk or do I have balls on my bitch ???? any further opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks guys for the input , Bill

Sorry but females will not form seeds that way. They are male balls just not fully formed. No pollen dust inside yet. I have done alot of reading on how to make female seeds. I wanted to try my self but did not want to use chemicals. The heat stress can be a factor. I'm on the east coast and my small AC can barely keep the heat down. I have been watching mine to see if I get any. Pic's would help all of us learn. If it has a big kola of female flowers then just keep an eye on it and remove them early, no probs. Sage of bud you need to read up on female seeds, no offence. The heat is most likely the cause. Hermies produce fem seeds. Check out the seed banks and info on making your own fem seeds. Ask Zandor if i'm wrong I will go with what ever he says. Pic's I would like to see. Still no offence, you still have bud just go with what you got.

As long as none open and polinate you have no problem. We watch every day so just keep an eye out.

Where did you get your seeds? I remember when I had lower quality seeds, they tended to be hermies. When I did get around to getting seeds from the bank, when I came across a male I would wait till the pollen balls were about to pop and collect them cutting the male down afterwards. I would pollenate spicific buds just to cross different shit and make seeds.

Loc Nar- thanks for the input. little erie about keeping male flowers around other females. Such a nice kola though might be worth the chance if I watch close?
Sprchvy396- Don't know what the potential for having hermies from lower grade seeds but the seeds I used were really good, not from a seed bank but a very good source. I've read about polinating but yourself. when you do that does one flower seed amnd the rest of the plants floweres stay sensai?
Wonder where Zandor is , I'm sure he coul;d add some pertinant hermie information for us to know?
thanks guys

If you get the male balls at just the right time you can save them in a plastic bag in the frig. You cut them open and use a qtip to rub a little pollen to just a few flowers and you will only get seeds on that spot every thing else will be sensi. Hope that helps. I have been on lots of different kinds of forum and most of the time if info is right the guru's can take a break from answering alot of questions, but his wisdom is always welcome.
