But yeah, lead poisoning is a slow and painful way to die. From fumes, extremely slow, you just get stupider and stupider every day for 15 years or so until you die, probably blaming it on the weed. For ingestion, it would be a very sudden death, many years down the road.

So, unless he knew he had lead poisioning and was able to explain it, the papers would never know :P
