Watering cycle......
I have a top feed drip system and i am not sure how often i should let it run. It shouldn't be called a drip system cause it shoots out more than just a drip. Is it possible to over water with hydro? Stupid question, I know. But is it?

sure you can what grow medium are you using?
Grow rocks or lava rocks will not hold water for longer then 30 min at a time. Rockwool can hold water for 24 hours, so you water to match the growth cycle and your grow medium.

Sounds like you should use Hydroton grow rocks for your system. I don't think it would over water them. You could let it run 24/7 or put it on a timer maybe like 15 mins on 15 off or something. Ask Zandor

Watering cycle......
I have Hydroton and Cocotek in the pots. Right now i have them on a timer to run fifteen minutes every two hours. Plants seem to be growin good right now. Pic one was taken three days before pic two. I'm using GH nutes that came with my system.
Zandor, What do you think my water cycle should be?

hate to say it bro, but your plants look weak. That fluorescent strip in the back is a two footer with shop style plain light tubes right? That's pretty much useless. Do your homework and get a HID light. Metal halide or high pressure sodium. THat thing you have doesn't even make good supplemental light. When I was 16 years old, I tried growing a plant under a blacklight from a bag seed. This reminds me of that. Your stems look as thick as my seedlings. I wouldn't waste anymore time with those plants, do a little reading, and start over when you have the equipment and knowledge. If you're going to spend 3 or 4 months time on a grow, you might as well not fuck around.

Wait a minute, I guess I just read that those are cuttings. I can't say how they look beacause I never tried to propagate clones or cuttings. Sorry If I came off harsh there, but I thought they were from seed. Good luck with them

stay with that watering regimen you use. It sounds like it may not be too often because of the coco you use which retains more water than Hydroton. If anything, people might say run it less, or make it just drip constantly.

Do you really think that those two skinny little flouros in the back gave off that bright orange/yellow glow that is over the pots? I don't think so! Are you new to growing? An experienced grower would pay attention to the color of the lighting in the pics. To add, did you even see the size difference of the plants in each of the pics? Here is a 400w HPS (see pic). Don't cha just feel like a JACKASS!!!!!!!! HAPPY GROWIN!!!!!!!!!1

My question is did you make it yourself? the hydro drip system that is or did you order it? I was thinking about the same thing dude but I was planning on doing a sog with it,I was going to attempt to build one myself I already got the info I need to make it!.but I wanted to add a bunch of plants probaly 30 to 40 plants at a time, let them veg a week or two from clone! then flick on the hps.............I was thinking? most of the system setups I seen that has the hydro drip system, they always keep it at a low number plants, wondering why is the system usually just built for 8 to 10 plants? never seen a sog method done on a drip system before? could it be done? sounds to me all I would have to do is keep the bucket size down by half! and add a above normal amount of extra buckets to the drip system..............perhaps a bunch of 2 litre pepsi bottle painted white turned upside down for the runoff,30, 2 litre wouldn't take up more then 4 square feet! of room, add plumbing work with the pvc pipe going all around the unit of bottle's should work! of course easier said then done I guess.
