Greenday
I used to love Greenday. Dookie, Nimrod, Insomiac..all great albums. I knew every word to every song on Dookie before I even got to 3rd grade. I'm happy for them with their recent success, i'm not a big fan of their new album though. Anyways, I just thought it was funny how all these teenie boppers and tweenies are so obsessed with Greenday, and they don't even know the meaning of 'greenday'. Hell, half their new found fanbase doesn't know what it means.

You a mind reader?
Exactly the same situation here, that International Superhits (or whatever) album was great, and all their old songs, but as soon as i heard american idiot (never watched any of their new videos all the way through) i have really hated them lol.
Also my mates are such followers, they all loved the new album, but as soon as i said i don't like their new stuff, one of them said "yeah, they are a bit shit now" and now nobody likes them (out of the group of friends that know how i stand on the subject).
I wasn't trying to get my mates to dislike them, just telling it how it is!
Also what does Greenday mean, like the term you're referring to? I've never been that much of a fan, just my brother's mate copied International Superhits onto CD for me, and i like it lol
Oh, i also thought they were irish until about a year ago lol, the lead singer (billy joel is it? hell knows) sounds irish to me! hehe

They're all from California. Billy Joe Armstrong (lead vocal and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tre Cool (drums). As far as their heritage, they could be irish, I have no clue.
Greenday means it's been a 'green' day. Meaning smoking bud all day.

I like GreenDay. I was never a huge fan of theirs but I remember when they first came out. I thought they were the weirdest looking guys. I don't listen too much to their new stuff as much as I used to their older stuff, but I don't hate them.

I like their new stuff. I've always liked them though ever since Kerplunk. I like how the changed to talking about the government now.

I think it's shit, the "wake me up when september ends" they try to make a classic song, and fuck it up lol, oh well.
Did anyone know the new album was going to be called "Cigarettes and Valentines"? i got told by a girl that loves them, she went and bought the album, sat on a public bench in a busy shopping centre/mall and cried because she thought american idiot was so beautiful, get a grip love! lol, oh well, i don't like them, matter of opinion
