Warning: You are all blindly enmeshed into an artifically constructed dynamic society
I totally agree that nearly all of what we percieve to be "normal" is only "normal" in that it is what we have been taught by others who have been taught by other who have been taught by others, etc. Religion and the belief in God is a perfect example of this concept. There is no scientific proof that God exists. In fact there is very little, scientific or not, to support the existance of God at all. I was not taught this and not brought up in a religous household and the whole concept of belief in a God really baffles me. Yet billions of people believe in God, what ever they may call him. Why, because it is what they have been taught from the time they were born.
I do, however, believe that emotions like love and compassion as well as basic decency are inherent to human beings. "Domination, murder, rape" are not "repressed instincts" those that call them that only do so to justify what they have done or wish to do. It may be instint to want to breed with as many females as possible. It is not instinct to rape them if they are unwilling, however.
Humans are not the only ones with rules, laws, and societal structures. These are common traits in animals all the way down to bees and ants. Horny lions don't just go around fucking any lioness they want, as with most mammals it is the female lion who determines wheher or not she mates with the male. Of course the male lion is bigger and more powerful and could probably "rape" the female if he wanted to but there is something deep down, whether instict or something more, that keeps him in line. Yes, survival of the fittest does apply here and it is the strongest male who is the leader of the pride but this is still within the confines of lion "society".
Frankly, Toking with Jesus, I find some of what you say to be more than a bit disturbing. Kind of like what they find in the journals of some guy who's got their neighbor's bits and pieces neatly organized in the freezer. Hopefully it's just the ramblings of someone who's smoked way too much weed. If not, I'll watch for you on the morning news.
