Mistakes friend.

First one is putting a seed in the sun. A seed requires NO light to sprout first off, and putting it in the sun is just frying and killing it.

This is what you do. Take a few layers of paper towel, put them on a small plate or saucer plate. Soak them, soak them good. Put the seed on top of the layers of paper towel. Next, take 1 more layer of paper towel, place it over top of the seed and other layers. Soak it again.

The key to getting a seed to sprout is to ALWAYS keep the paper towels moist. Don't ever let it dry out, that WILL kill the seed. Keep the towels moist always, but don't let there be any sitting water, just the paper towel nice and drenched. Put on top of your fridge, or even in a room at room temp, check on it every 12hrs or so and re-moist when needed. Again, NO sitting water. You should see a sprout within the next 24-72hrs. No light is needed, but germination/sprouting will go quicker if it is kept a little bit warmish. Not hot, not freezing cold, a happy medium.

Good luck.
