you can be detained without the po-po letting you know why and you don't have to be read your rights til you are beingofficially arrested. as soon as you get put into custody by the cops, its a really good idea to keep your mouth shut and just pay attention to what they do to you. its a good idea to read up on the local police department policies and see if they broke even the smallest regulation, cause in court your lawyer can use that to help prove the lack of ingrety in the police officer. i used to be a cop, if you have any other questions feel free to email me

houston is notorious for cops with shitty attitudes and bad evidence handling. i'm willing to be they broke some kind of law/regulation, espeically the slamming thing. were you two resisting at all? cuz of not let your lawyer know how they handled the situation and that you weren't resisting, if he can prove the cops were being overly abusive/forceful then you'll probably get the charges dropped. and i doubt much will happen for pi, i got a possession charge and got a 1000 dollar fine, got my liscense suspended for 6 months, spent 1 night in jail. and have to take some bullshit drug awarness program. i doubt you'll even get that much, and i know for a fact you can't have you liscense taken away for a PI charge. might get the 1000 dollar fine tho, but i payed mine in four payments of about 250 (have to add in court costs.)

Definitly try every trick to try and get out of this one. The broken rib is sleazy, but it's good. The cops had no need to slam you on the hood, and you getting an injury from that can hold up. Just play up every angle, and you eventually one of them has to work.

wait for arraignment before hiring a lawyer and plead not guilty...most likely charges will be dropped for lack of evidence (they never tested you...right?)

all the cop did was told me to CLOSE my eyes and shined the light at me CLOSED eyes and said i was high. I kept asking him to give me a test and he said "save it 4 tha judge" fuckin dick. and nah mann i wasnt resisting i was fuckin calm as hell just askin him why i was being arrested. i did ask the one cop why the other was being so rough and get this, he said it was because i was "a dopesmoker" goddamn cops are fuckin assholes.

i have no advice for you.. but i totally fucking feel you man. the system is sooooo fucked up. no human being should have power over another, that's how I view it... and with the cops today, it's all about power.. believe it or not but i think the initial creation of a police force was a good idea, until tons of christian powertrippin drunkards started applying for popo positions (oh yea, fill your body with poison but don't smoke a plant that came outta the ground) (btw i didnt mean no offense to christians, as many of my family members are) i dont know shit is just fucked up nowadays
