bongs filter out the some shit but not thc...thc is not water soluible so it is not broken down in the water...the only thing that would effect thc is certian kinds of alcohol

Actually, there have been scientific studies proving that the water filters out more THC than it does tar and other chemicals. That said, THC does not absorb into water very well so not all that much THC gets filtered out, but its still more than the amount of tar thats filtered out.

I don't care what the studies say about percentage of THC removed. Bong hits get me ripped, and nothing can change that. The reason I use them is not to filter out chemicals but to cool down the smoke so I can take in nice big hits.

If you're really concerned about the damage from smoking try using a vaporizer. With a vaporizer there's no smoke so supposedly no tar. Plus, unlike a bong, none of the THC gets filtered out. To me it seems that I get a lot higher with less weed when I use a vaporizer. And, there's no smoke to smell so it's stealthy.

i second that, ive got a top quality vaporizer and they get you proper stoned, while using only a fraction of the skunk weed, and its better for your lungs (although how much better is open to debate)
