Powair, I can somewhat, relate to your situation since my younger sister was my parents's favorite. My parents celebrated my birthday maybe twice (?) in my entire life but for my sister's birthday, it was trips to Canada, or wherever she wanted to go and it was celebrated every year. She always wore name-brand clothes and I don't remember getting "new" school clothes. I don't believe that my parents hated me. They have also said to me, when I was younger, that I embarrassed them because of the way I dressed and looked.

Still, I never thought to disrespect them and I eventually came to terms with how they treated me and how they treated my sister. I love my parents and my sister. I knew that if I didn't accept how things were, I was the one that was going to be stuck in that miserable way of thinking and maybe even do things, bad things, to myself to numb the pain. I would've paid for it, in the long run.

You DO have the power to change how you feel. You just have to be strong enough, for yourself, to have a healthy outlook on life.
