I'M BACK! and LOADED with questions..
well maybe not loaded per say.. but uh, i couldnt get on the site under certain circumstances.. BUT.. i'm here now, I kno i missed alot..
But in all the reflecting I've been doing about growin this plant n shit, all the stuff i learned.. I NEVER learned how to finish it... I figured I'd ask about it before i continue cus i dun wanna grow it n not kno how to stop it
to my knowledge, of course theres the flowering stage, til the veins look red/brownish.. then supposedly u cut the fan leaves n hang'm upside down in a dry area.. to remove moisture (dry it out) and avoid molding..
this is as much as i kno.. so wtf is CURING?
and lookin at Harddon's post about the SOG i'm assuming its mass-growing plants vegged for a short period of time and sent into flowering.. to compensate/equivalent the full growth of one or two plants.
but whats CURING?
and Harddon.. what happened to the bin u were re-constructing? is it workin out well? did u work on it? details.. and also I have a new address for u to send that sample.. cus with all this harvesting/curing/contaminating/whichever i'm leavin for college in the next week, so hit me up on the Hush...
my friend and I are gonna set up the bins and start growin once we get to college. we found a lil forrest/wood area, and we're really considering planting the clones there.. always open for suggestions..sheist Reviewed by sheist on . The best to use is a mason jar. Any size, just as long as you don't cram the buds in so they fit loosely inside. Put the lid on, and in about 12hrs or so, open the jar for about 20min to let it breath. If you touch the buds, you can see that they are kind of moist again. What happens when you seal in dried buds, is they still retain some of their moisture inside of the bud. So sealing the air in a container, what the buds do is they "sweat" out the last of their THC, improving the potency some. After 20-30min with the lid off, put the lid back on for another 12hrs or so. Keep doing this process for as long as you please. After about 3 days of doing this, you no longer need to open the container for air. I find a short cure, I do mine for about 7 days, is better than a long cure. But after the buds "sweat" out the last of their THC, the potency won't go up any. Understand curing now?
To do this, you have to make sure the buds are about 90% dru before placing them into an airtight container. If they are not dry enough, sealing in that moisture will result in moldy bud. You can tell the mold is forming when you smell a kind of ammonia smell, like catpiss kind of. If that happens, take them out of your container asap and finish drying them.
Whew, now I need a break

I'M BACK! and LOADED with questions..
thats what i was referring to when i mentioned the veins.. when i get my bud, the red moves in streams of lines, which was why i call'm veins..
as for curing, my pops taught me to keep it in the sunlight in a paper bag (to absorb the moisture) could this be effective? this is what i used for the herbal smoke shop shit...
and YES in the woods, we're gonna clear out a bigass spot and turn it into a garden... they'll be set and will flower naturally..Any posts made by me are purely fictional in nature and by no means is anything I say to be taken seriously. It's done the same way. The buds must be about 85-90% dry, if not, mold may occur. What you want to do first, is get a plastic bag, like a grocery bag, and line the inside of the paper bag with it. Once you have it lined in there, gently place the buds inside the bag(s). Close the top of the bag(s), and place, in the dark, at room temp.. Open the bag(s) every 12hrs or so and rearrange the buds so they evenly cure. Watch for over moisture and the smell of ammnoia(cat piss). If this starts to happen, take the buds out and finish drying.
You see, light degrades THC, so does heat, so leaving them in the sun, IMO, is not the best idea. Just at room temp, in a dark corner somewhere.
Hope this helps...good luck!

so what if i were to combine the ideas.. like instead of using the plastic bag, I use the mason jar.... cus this way it'd keep the moisture from just escaping into the air and re-settling onto the bud.. n every 12hrs or so, i change the paper towel

But if that's not what you mean, ignore what I said.
