Educate yourself and your dad....that is what you really need to do.
Knowledge is your best weapon...
from NORML:
Marijuana, like other drugs, is not for kids. There are many activities in our society that we permit adults to do, but forbid children, such as motorcycle riding, skydiving, signing contracts, getting married and drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco. However, we do not condone arresting adults who responsibly engage in these activities in order to dissuade our children from doing so. Nor can we justify arresting adult marijuana smokers on the grounds of sending a message to children. Our expectation and hope for young people is that they grow up to be responsible adults, and our obligation to them is to demonstrate what that means.

cannabis has in fact made me able to acomplish many things like graduating high school and surviving a rough lifestyle of reckless abandonment as a teen.
weed is nothing compared to booze as far as 'skill deterieration" or memory loss and health risk,it will not turn your liver into a solid stone like booze and it will not make you CRAZY if your not pre disposed to be a friutcake, hell it may delay it by chilling you out and not making the 'angry young man'come out and play, not saying its harmless to everyone, just it is not the evil entity that the goverment says it is so it can kick in your door and arrest you, hoping that arrest of the weed user since he is made to be running with bad crowds at times to get his meds, may lead to other bigger criminals
we are being used, and abused by BIG money,
all of us who have no chioce but to seek a way to smoke one so we can eat and sleep and not have as much pain, all called criminals as we are being used
by the fuckers who want among many other companies
Du Pont to sell pills/ have cash to donate to the election funds
and pay for the votes,
peace

how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
I was born with a learning disability, since i started smoking i've been doing a lot better. I guess my self esteem has really sky rocketed because now im not so bored and i actually have a bit of fun to look forward to after im done with my homework, im more socail and not just with potheads, i may be a little more lazy and cant run very far without having to cough and have a heart attack but thats just about it. I've come a long way and pot really pushed me back up from depression and shit. If anyone trys to disagree with me then i know the truth because im living proof that weed doesent make everyone stupid or go on to bigger and worse drugs it really depends on the person.
I've even stoped myself from smoking everyday which is sumthing i thought i couldent do because people kept saying it to me...but its not true and im just living my life, enjoying it, and doing what i should do the best I can. Anyone wanna still get on my case they already heard it from me and thats all i can do for them. Peace! I got homework to do.

***Science: Schizophrenia
Israelian scientists propose that the association between
cannabis use and increased risk for schizophrenia that have been
observed in recent studies from Sweden, the Netherlands, New
Zealand, and Israel may not be causal. Several studies have
reported an association between genes encoding the
cannabinoid receptor and
schizophrenia. The researchers write: "An alternative explanation
of the association between cannabis use and schizophrenia might
be that pathology of the cannabinoid system in schizophrenia
patients is associated with both increased rates of cannabis use
and increased risk for schizophrenia, without cannabis being a
causal factor for schizophrenia." (Source: Weiser M, Noy S.
Dialogues Clin Neurosci. 2005;7(1):81-5.)

how do you defend weed when it comes to long term effects??????
i understand what your saying and i apologize if my responses made it sound like i was blaming marijuana for my own ignorance. what i'm trying to say is that there is a lot of new information that my head has to absorb and getting ripped before this knowledge is poured into my head isn't the best idea for me, this is from knowing my own head when i'm high. it alters my thinking and directs it into another direction beside the right one at the moment. i see getting high as a test of my education. when i'm stoned i find it hard to remember information that has been said, but that can easily be cured by writing the information down. perhaps i spoke too soon...i haven't even been to school high yet, but from my own experiences on learning from my own resources it has failed...due to my own laziness.
You sound like a really level headed person to me.
It really is just common sense you smoke responsibly just like you drink responsibly.

bluecat, i thought that posted read familiar lol...kind of threw me off guard. i'm aware that i have to be responsible, which is something that i'm actually trying to prove to my parents at the moment also. shit...it's one of the reasons they won't get me a car, but i've told them numerous of times that i'm not one to drive around with marijuana in the car, i can wait until i'm in the safety of my own home to toke up. of course, actions speak louder than words.

did anyone know that we have THC receptors that we are born with in our brains....now why would "god" make us humans with those receptors if the only way to get them working is by putting THC in your system...why would "god" grow weed for us to smoke with thc receptors in our brains that cause creativivty..but not want us to smoke the fucking plant? the only thing that has thc in it is weed..so he obbiusly wanted it smoked by us..
