After the flowering/budding process, there is nothing more to do. Once the plant is done flowering, or what you call "budding", then the plant must be harvested and dried. After it is done growing, it is done, and will begin to die if not cut. These are the basic steps to growing:

1. Germinating/sprouting
2. Veg.
3. Flower
4. Harvest/cut down
5. Cure

After curing, the whole process starts again. So yes, stick with your floros for now, they will work for vegging(18/6 or 24/0) well. Yes, use an Hps for flowering(12/12). Use those for now and once you begin to advance and actually know how the plant grows, then advance further. But using the lights of what you suggested, will produce quality pot with good yeilds(with practice ..) Good luck.
