stogiefan... the burning feeling in the back of your through is natural.. its come with smoking weed.. or anything from that matter... it really depends on what you smoke it with tho.. bongs are easier on the lungs especially if its filled with ice water.. since the smoke is filtered through the water.. cooling the smoke down/leaving water particles in the smoke for you to inhale, but as NoosaHeads said above me...seriously.. just take smaller hits until you can hold your smoke.. don't try and be brave.. your just gonna end up coughing up a lung.. lmao

I think the best thing to cool the smoke down fast is to fill the neck of the bong with chushed ice or snow (like you would for a margarita sp?) all the way up to the mouth peice, you cant even fell the smoke then.

Since you did not actually specify wether or not you're smoking from a bong...I will take it you meant a doobie, perhaps?

If so, I have always liked that burning feeling. It makes my mindset ready for the creeping high to come. I don't have any experience with bongs at the time being, so I am not aware if they burn your throat to the extent a doob' might. Anyways, just take smaller hits if you can't take it. No use in killing yourself.
