pH plan of attack
ok, I think I got ot figured out now.
Plants need higher levels of "N" and "K" and less levels of "P" during grow phase.
Plants like a light dip in "N" and "K" and a boost of "P" during flowering.
If you notice the N-P-K rating on your nutrient bottles, you'll see the difference between the grow and bloom bottles, and it should be similar to what I described above with the boost and dip between the two.
So................ following the attatched pH to nutrient uptake chart, I've deduced that during growth stage, I will keep the pH between 5.5 and 5.8, and during the bloom phase between 5.8 and 6.1.
This should provide the optimum conditions and nutrient uptake.
Look at the chart, It tells all about nutrients and pH. For example, if your pH is below 5.8, you won't be getting any potassium to your plants which is essential, especially during flowering. Magnesium only uptakes in low pH environments like 5.5-5.6, which is important in growth phase and flowering.
In my resevoir, which is only 5 gallons, I have the best results by keeping pH between 5.6 and 6.1. But now I have figured out when to keep it closer to the high side or low side.
Low side during grow (5.6-5.8)
high side during bloom (5.8-6.1)
Everyone get a pH monitor by American Marine (Pinpoint)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i totally forgot the existence of those things (monitoring pH constantly) and got a digital pen instead for measuring pH......now i have to check it myself.....so far so good.....my pH stays at 5.9 and my EC at 1.7.....i know the EC is a bit high for baby plants of 10 days old but they seem to be handling it just fine so far.....
now i have to provide them with extra CO2 as things have started getting a bit hot in there as the temperature hits a constant 28-29 degrees celcius despite the usage of the fans.....need to buy some yeast

I'm using CO2 with a regulator and solenoid for timed dispersal. I use co2 a little differently then most. I have constant airflow when the lights are on. Always an intake and outake going. Since I have a small cabinet setup, I run the CO2 constantly when lights are on. I have a bubble counter (aquarium style) to give a visual on how much co2 is being released and I bought a CO2 meter to see how much is in the air in there. the CO2 comes out of an airline tube from the regulator to the fan that blows on the top of the plants. CO2 level is at about 1200. Thats about the best I can do without wasting too much of it. Thankfully I get my tanks for free through my job. I went through the 1st one in 3 weeks.
Also, I think I may have had a little Magnesium or Calcium defeciency earlier on before I started supplementing with Cal-Mag plus and Silica Blast for heat defense. I use RO water so I have none of that to begin with. Take a look at the pics, you'll see some leaf tip drying. It doesn't look like nute burn to me, what do you think? The new growth since added supplements has litlle to none of that leaf tip problem, the lower down on the plant, the more there is, but nothing to worry about.\"Smoke and a pancake? Zandor, nobody should give you a hard time about giving lots of advice. You are a bright light in the dark for lots of people. You can overtake the cultivation board anyday you want

Hey mods, whoever...I would like to know who has a problem with Zandor's methods...I don't see too many others putting in the time that he does to help people...and what if he does? It is his choice...Thanks for having these forums, so I can rant at you instead of the ol' lady...later.peace
