I know ya love these things HD but do you feel that they do in fact push more light to the plant? Or just heat?

I guess my thought is that if they didn't have some use then they wouldn't sell them with all the big time grow lights you can purchase. And if reflecting light wasn't a good thing, then our grow rooms would be black.

Reflectors would seem to be especially beneficial with cfl's. Since the lumens are limited to begin with, anything that can be done to get the light shooting up into the ceiling down on the plant is a good thing. And the closer a reflective surface is to the actual light source, it seems the more light it will reflect back to the plants to a degree of actually doing some good.

Definitely more of a hassle trying to get a fan blowing across the bulbs to keep them as cool as possible and to give the plants a little breeze too with reflectors on there. I have them on mine but would sure like to throw them away. Only problem is that they seem to reflect light back towards the plants! Necessary evil with cfls? What's everyone think?
